Water, water everywhere, but which one should I drink?
All water is not created equal. If you’re reading this right now, you’ve started to do your homework about the differences in water versus sparkling water, pros and cons of each, etc. For the sake of this discussion, we will be discussing some properties and benefits of sparkling (or carbonated) water only. Now that we got that out of the way, let’s get our hands wet.
First off, let us make the distinction between our carbonated compatriots, sparkling mineral water, club soda, seltzer water, and tonic water.
- Sparkling mineral water: comes from a natural source within the earth with its own balance of minerals (i.e. salt, sulfur, and magnesium), and then is carbonated at a bottling facility.
- Seltzer water: filtered water artificially carbonated at the bottling facility.
- Club soda: much like seltzer water, except with mineral-like ingredients added for flavor.
